Hello Youth Radio Leaders!
Two exciting items to bring to you this month:
1. Jay Allison, independent producer, director of Transom.org, and
co-founder of PRX, has some funds from his Open Studio Project to
support youth producers of color in finishing radio stories. This
support could include funding assistance, long-distance editorial help,
equipment loans, help with distribution or short residencies at his
studio in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
Jay is looking for producers who have already collected tape and who
are interested in collaborating on creative radio stories. If you're
working with a young producer who might be candidate, send an email to
Jay at jwa at well.com. For the sake of the candidates, Jay is eager not
to have to "reject" anyone; please talk with him before putting young
producers in touch with him.
2. AIRSPACE is here! The Association of Independents in Radio's latest
magazine features stories for and by youth radio leaders and producers.
Visit http://www.airmedia.org/airspace/index.php to read a copy
on-line or visit http://airmedia.org/AIRpod/index.php to hear a
podcasted version of the magazine.
Happy summertime,
Jones
