The Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University hosts a community
documentary festival called the Happening every February.  Film, video, audio,
and photo artists come together to share their work  and learn from each other.
 This year, Youth Noise Network, a youth radio program at CDS, will host their
own workshop to create a new venue for youth produced radio.  We will curate
work by youth producers from around the country and have a discussion about
what makes youth radio unique.  We know you are doing exciting work so send it
to us! There are only a few guidelines:

1.  The pieces can be in any format about any topic.
2.  The piece must be produced by a youth producer. That means you were 18 or
younger when you produced the piece. And you produced it: not your
coordinator/mentor/editor.
3.  The piece should be from 30 seconds to 15 minutes long, and we reserve the
right to play only a section of a longer piece.
4.  Pieces can be submitted electronically by emailing an MP3 to
tjwatson at duke.edu or mailing a CD to:

SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BY JAN. 5th, 2007!!!

5.  Please include with the piece your name, age, location, length of piece, and
your contact information.
6.  Submission to the youth radio workshop is FREE.  Youth producers and the
adults that work with them are encouraged to attend the Happening and submit
work to the larger festival. The Happening  is Feb. 1-3, 2007. We want as many
people as possible to be here, especially youth. So, we will work with you to
figure out an affordable way of attending.
