[youthradioleaders] Virtual bullying

Hello Youth-Produced Radio Community,

Cori Princell, a producer at WUNC's The Story 
(http://www.thestory.org), recently wrote with the following inquiry:

"I got an intriguing call yesterday from the friend of a woman whose 
daughter is being bullied at school...What's interesting is that all 
the bullying is through text messages, My Space, email, etc. Apparently 
the bully is passing on really violent threats from her cell phone, or 
her computer at home...nothing the school is able to crack
down on...Have you heard any young people talking about this?  Since 
it's still going on for this girl, I don't know if she or her mother 
would talk about it with us, but I would love to find a teenager who 
has been through this before, or knows someone who has."

Have any of you experienced wireless bullying, witnessed it, or know 
someone who has?  If so, please contact Cori Princell at 
CPRINCELL at mail.wuncfm.unc.edu - she's interested in working with youth 
producers to create a piece on the issue to broadcast on The Story.
