Hello leaders and pioneers of youth-made radio,
If you haven't been to PRX or Generation PRX lately, you may be
missing out on some helpful goodies. Looking for teaching
resources? Ways to collaborate and make sure student work finds an
audience? Want to create a playlist of your favorite work? Read on:
1. In response to that perennial question we've all asked ourselves,
"So...what should we listen to today?" We've created a discussion on
our Favorite Audio for Group Listening. Movies, essays,
documentaries - it's all fair game. What's the audio you reach
for? Let us know!
2. If you were wondering about the depth and breadth of the youth
radio field, take a listen to the Best Youth-Made Radio of '08
playlist. With contributions from Alaska Teen Media Institute to
Listen Up New Orleans! and everywhere in between, on topics ranging
from Ritalin addiction to a Chinatown noodle shop, it's more proof
that storytelling thrives.
3. Finally, now is the time to upload your youth radio work to PRX.
With the new version of the site introducing quick commenting,
playlists (see #2) and unlimited storage space, there are all kinds
of new ways to interact through audio.
Hope to see some of you at the NFCB Conference in Portland!
