Good Morning,

Youth Media Project has conducted many workshops and, more directly to the
inquiry, a 2 week Summer Intensive here in Santa Fe for the past four years,
resulting in youth produced radio stories, broadcasts and audio slide shows.

Much of our work is based upon a curricula, Drawing from the Well, developed
in the late Œ90¹s. It is a method I designed/facilitated for 4 years in the
small Hispanic villages in northern New Mexico within the Penasco School
District with middle schoolers. It was inspired by Foxfire and the intent to
lay the groundwork for educational systems to integrate local community
(culture, history, plus contemporary life) into basic pedagogical practices.
To learn more about Drawing from the Well go to:
http://www.cesdp.nmhu.edu/drawing-from-the-well/index.html

We plan to post more teacher resources on our Youth Media Project website,
http://youthmediaproject.org but for now we utilize versions of the attached
docs and samples from our students plus PRX (of course!), as our key
guidelines. As you¹ll notice many of these are drafts, as we plan to flesh
these out in time. (in time and with support to do so...right?)

Please let us know if you use them and provide us with ANY feedback. Be
great to be more engaged in a discourse about what we all find useful.

If anyone would like to discuss any of this, please contact me. Great to
open up the dialogue with any of you doing this exciting and important work.
- always great to sing with the choir.

All the best,
Judy
