Hello teachers and leaders in radio,
We are over-the-moon excited to present Bullied: Teen Stories from Generation PRX, an hour-long radio special of young people's voices on a topic that affects us all. The show was produced by Connecticut Public Radio and is presented by PRX.
This is the most ambitious youth-produced special we've created yet - from screening dozens of great pitches, to sending out equipment and conducting training webinars, to working with teen hosts and producers. You can see how the special came together, along with resources and ways to get involved, at generation.prx.org/bullied
Bullied reminded us of the power youth-produced radio has to transform media: We need young people's voices on air! Here's how you can help:
1. Listen! Then share your feedback and comments on the piece page on PRX.
2. Spread the word. You can share the piece on Facebook, tweet it, or embed the full show on your blog using the PRX embeddable player (here's how).
3. Let us know who we should reach. Are there LGBTQ groups, anti-bullying projects or educators groups who might be able to use Bullied: Teen Stories from Generation PRX? If so, please say the word.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to all of you who contributed ideas, submitted pitches or sent notes of encouragement. Big ups in particular to Blunt Youth Radio Project (Maine), Hear in the City (L.A.), Middletown Youth Radio Project (Connecticut), Alaska Teen Media Institute, ZUMIX Radio (Boston), Latitude News and producer Catie Talarski - champions all!
Yours,
Jones
