[youthradioleaders] Equipment Question

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has used a video recorder for their youth 
media groups yet.  Have you had success removing the audio from the 
tracks?  Is the audio quality decent?  I'm looking for an entry-level 
camcorder ($100 range) for a special project.
I teach a community radio class at Goucher College in Baltimore, MD.  We 
partner with youth groups in town.
