[youthradioleaders] Third Coast Festival Notes for Audio Educators

Dear Audio Educators,

It was such a pleasure to see so many of you in Chicago last weekend at Third Coast.  Our numbers are legion!  Our ideas are strong!  I wanted to share a few highlights that came out over the weekend:

1. Issues & strategies.  There were some great conversations during our Friday Educators Assembly, highlights of which are here.  I've made the document editable by all, so if you were there and have things to correct or add, please do so.

2. Recognition.  Several educators raised the need for more ways to recognize and call attention to student work.  

3. Interaction.  I heard many educators asking for more frequent conversations with other teachers.  Many of us felt that we could have spent another few days just talking in the Educators Assembly!  

I'm hoping we find ways to continue these important conversations either on this listserve, via webinars or (best of all) face to face meetings.  

Thanks to all of you for the wonderful work you do.  For those of you who will be in New York this weekend, I hope to see you at the NYC Digital Waves Youth Media Fest on Saturday!
