Kat,
As a teacher, I often looked to (the now somewhat dated) Diversity in
Action, by Sharon Chappelle and Lisa Bigman. It's billed as an
experiential educator's guide to exploring "issues of diversity with
middle school and high school age youth," and is full of activities
that focus on issues of racial identity, sexual orientation, class and
communication (among others). Though some of the exercises were more
successful than others, they often were great catalysts for group
discussion and conflict resolution, and the book includes questions to
help with group process.
Educators for Social Responsibility
(http://www.esrnational.org/home.htm), has a number of publications and
online resources to "help educators create safe, caring, respectful,
and productive learning environments."
I'd love to hear what other people have to suggest. Thanks for posting
this question - sounds like you are creating a hugely valuable
resource!
