HI all,
The Youth Media Project has been operating within a local, non-profit
community radio station here in Santa Fe for the past four years. Along with
fiscal sponsorship we have appreciated insurance coverage for general
liability, directors & officers, and for our equipment. Yet, as of April we
were informed that we no longer could receive coverage, as we have expanded
our reach and have a base of operations separate from the community radio
station.
I¹ve been working with an insurance agent trying to find coverage for our
Youth Media Project and have been met with great resistance on the part of
carriers. In fact I was told, by a potential underwriter ³the name alone
³Youth Media Project² makes you a non-candidate for insurance.²
Can anyone recommend an insurance company who is currently providing your
project both liability and equipment coverage? We work within schools,
colleges, and offer an after-school program. Our gear includes field
recording packs, laptop computers and portable studio equipment, which we
want to continue using at different locations hence, need transportation
coverage for the gear (not the students).
All suggestions will be appreciated, and we¹ll inquire if the recommended
insurance co. can operate in New Mexico.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
Judy
